Elegant reproduction designs from Scottish lace archives dating to the 1800's. 95% cotton, these are created on antique Nottingham lace looms. Currently, only made in Scotland.
Nottingham lace is woven by "point". 8, 10, 12 and 14 point each have different qualities. Point refers to the thread count per inch. The lower points use a "thicker" yarn which results in a heavier lace with great clarity of design. The higher points require more yarn as the yarn size is quite fine. These have a more delicate look and very detailed design. 5% Polyester is added for stability and ease of cleaning. Most of ours are 12 or 14 point.
Care: 95% cotton, 5% polyester. Hand or machine wash, gentle, like warm water, no bleach or whitening agents. Machine dry gentle, low heat until damp, then line dry. Iron using cool temperature, if desired. Sponge spots immediately.
